The gro­up exhi­bi­ti­on ‘Meanwhile, in the glo­ssy inter­fa­ce’ takes a look at the paral­lel sto­ri­es to our everyday lives. Bringing out per­s­pec­ti­ves from dif­fe­rent onli­ne inha­bi­tants, from onli­ne wor­kers to strol­lers and scrol­lers; it explo­res the psyc­ho­lo­gi­cal effec­ts of exten­ding the body onli­ne. Reflecting on aug­men­ted cha­rac­ters by using face fil­ters, sel­fie came­ras, live stre­ams, or sta­ged and hig­hly mani­pu­la­ted pho­to­grap­hy, gat­he­red artis­ts Carmen Roca Igual, Dora Brkarić and Helena Roig Prats are looking into the com­mo­di­fi­ca­ti­on of the body onli­ne. Examining the poli­ci­es behind algo­rit­h­ms that cap­tu­re, dis­tri­bu­te, and pre­sent the body onli­ne, the exhi­bi­ti­on will draw cri­ti­cal atten­ti­on to the scre­ens we hold in our han­ds and how the ima­ges we sha­re take on a life on the­ir own.
